(Austin, Texas) – This week, Circle C Area Democrats and the Austin Tejano Democrats endorsed Joseph Kopser’s campaign for Congress in TX-21.

Circle C Area Democrats is a Democratic club and state-registered political action committee that supports local Democratic candidates in southwest Travis County. They are dedicated to working for local candidates through volunteering and fundraising as southwest Travis County and Hays County become more electorally competitive.

Austin Tejano Democrats seek full representation for Hispanics at every level of the Democratic Party. They endorse local candidates and organize in the community to seek equal representation. In response to the endorsements, Joseph Kopser released the following statement:

“With the support of Circle C Area Democrats and Austin Tejano Democrats, we are continuing to build the broad coalition of Democratic voters that we need to succeed in May and flip the 21st District in November. Both organizations represent the critical efforts of Democrats in Travis County and beyond, and their work to energize and organize the voters in this district will be a key component of Democrats’ victories in 2018. I am honored to have Circle C Area Democrats and the Austin Tejano Democrats as part of our team, and I look forward to working with both groups in our mission to restore real leadership to TX-21.”

These endorsements adds to a growing list of leaders supporting Joseph Kopser, including Senator Kirk Watson, Representative Donna Howard, Representative Eddie Rodriguez, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff, Commissioner Garry Mauro, Commissioner Brigid Shea, Paul Begala, and Matt Angle. They join institutional supporters of Kopser for Congress, including Vote Vets PAC, 314 Action Fund, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, Congressman Seth Moulton, Jason Kander, Khizr Khan, LEAP Forward, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, New Politics, and the Texas Lone Star Project. Joseph Kopser has also been named a Gun Sense Candidate by Moms Demand Action.

Joseph Kopser is a 20-year Army veteran, technology entrepreneur, and father of three daughters running in the Democratic Primary for TX-21. His candidacy is driven by concern for the future of our country and the path Washington leadership is taking. He is building a new coalition of voters who believe the values, priorities, and expectations of Texas’ 21st congressional district will serve as a model of service and representation for Texas and the United States.
