(Austin, Texas) — On Saturday, April 7, 2018, after a call from the organizers of the March 24 nationwide March For Our Lives to host town halls in each of 435 congressional districts across the country, Joseph Kopser will take part in a Town Hall for Our Lives in TX-21.

Where Congressman Lamar Smith will not answer the call to take action on this vital issue, Kopser and his team are leading the charge to bring together students, activists, and local leaders. The event will feature candidates for races up and down the ballot including Ann Kitchen (Austin City Council, District 5), Eddie Rodriguez (Texas House of Representatives, HD-51), Aurora Martinez Jones (candidate for Travis County Judge, 459th District) and Joseph Kopser, (Democratic candidate for TX-21). All other candidates in the district are invited to speak and answer questions at Saturday’s Town Hall.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 7 from 3PM to 6PM at the Dittmar Recreation Center Gymnasium. Following an introduction by State Senator Kirk Watson, Sandy and Lonnie Phillips of Survivors Empowered will discuss their work to shed light on this issue. After a panel featuring 2018 candidates, the event will conclude with an open mic and question and answer session for all available local candidates.
