COALITION TO STOP GUN VIOLENCE ENDORSES JOSEPH KOPSER IN TX-21

(Austin, Texas) – This week, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence endorsed Joseph Kopser for Congress in Texas’ 21st Congressional District. CSGV released the following statement:

“We strongly endorse Kopser for Congress in TX-21. As a combat veteran, Kopser will bring a unique voice to the gun violence debate in Congress. He is a strong supporter of background checks and federal regulation of assault weapons. We look forward to working with Joseph Kopser.”

In response to the endorsement, Joseph Kopser said:

“I am extremely honored and proud to be endorsed by the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. Since the 1970’s, they’ve been working to prevent violence through education and policy. I’m proud to support many of the common sense policies they’ve been fighting for and, if elected, I will be a strong ally in the fight to make our schools, churches, and streets safer.”

The CSGV endorsement represents Kopser’s significant support from gun safety organizations, including the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, LEAP Forward, and the gun sense candidate distinction from Moms Demand Action.

The endorsement also adds to a growing list of leaders supporting Joseph Kopser, including Senator Kirk Watson, Representative Donna Howard, Representative Eddie Rodriguez, Senator Gonzalo Barrientos, Judge Nelson Wolff, Commissioner Garry Mauro, Commissioner Brigid Shea, Kathleen Tobin Krueger, Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Paul Begala, and Matt Angle. They join institutional supporters of Kopser for Congress including Austin Central Labor Council, Texas AFL-CIO, San Antonio Express-News, Environment Texas, Circle C Area Democrats, Central Austin Democrats, South Austin Democrats, Austin Tejano Democrats, West Austin Democrats, Vote Vets PAC, 314 Action Fund, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, Congressman Seth Moulton, Jason Kander, Khizr Khan, LEAP Forward, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, New Politics, and the Texas Lone Star Project. Joseph Kopser has also been named a Gun Sense Candidate by Moms Demand Action.
