Joseph Kopser Outraises Chip Roy in Latest Filing by Nearly Double, Reports Significant Cash on Hand Advantage

(Austin, TX) — Yesterday, the Kopser for Congress Campaign announced Joseph Kopser’s July Quarterly fundraising numbers.

In the period from May 3rd to June 30th, Kopser raised $395,377.75, bringing his 2nd Quarter total to $469,273.31. Kopser also reported $364,365.57 in cash on hand. Joseph Kopser released the following statement:

“In a district that has not seen a serious challenger in a generation, we’ve raised nearly twice as much as our opponent in May and June. He may have every traditional advantage in this gerrymandered district, and millions of dollars in dark money sure to pour in, but our numbers show that Texans are putting country over party and fighting back against Washington insiders and special interests.”

Hilary Barrett, Kopser’s Campaign Manager, added:

“TX-21 has not had an accountable, accessible representative in Congress for over 30 years. Our significant advantage in cash on hand–nearly double Chip Roy’s–gives us the power to change that. Our strong grassroots fundraising will allow us to continue holding town halls, roundtables, meet and greets, and canvasses in all ten counties and with all citizens in the 21st district. Together we will send a combat veteran, job creator, and committed, independent leader to Congress in November.”

Kopser’s July Quarterly filing is available here.

Background:

Joseph Kopser is a 20-year Army veteran, technology entrepreneur, husband and father of three daughters, and Democratic nominee for Congress in TX-21. His candidacy is driven by concern for the future of our country and the path Washington leadership is taking. He is building a new coalition of voters who believe the values, priorities, and expectations of Texas’ 21st congressional district will serve as a model of service and representation for Texas and the United States.
