Kopser Smashes Previous Fundraising Record, Reaching Goals For First In A Generation Upset In TX-21

(Austin, TX) — Today, Joseph Kopser’s campaign in the Texas 21st Congressional District announced a historic raise of over $930,000 in the third financial quarter. Kopser, a decorated combat veteran and successful businessman, has been a prolific fundraiser, consistently outraising his opponents and meeting or exceeding campaign goals quarter over quarter.

“We’re hitting every goal in finance, field, and voter outreach and that investment is paying off,” Kopser said. “We remain on track to win in November and return Texas values to Washington. Our message is resonating and our opponent isn’t doing himself any favors by mischaracterizing both my record and Texan expectations that folks in DC work together to solve problems–the same way we do at home.”

Kopser’s numbers broke all fundraising records–Democrat or Republican–in TX-21

  • As of now, Kopser has raised more in this cycle than any candidate in the history of the district (including 30-year incumbent Lamar Smith)

  • Kopser beat his initial fundraising goal by over $100,000.

  • This is the fifth quarter in a row that Kopser has beaten his original goal.

  • Kopser has nearly doubled his Q2 raise in Q3.

  • Kopser’s raise in Q3 alone is roughly equal to Roy’s raise for the entire cycle through Q2.

Kopser’s record-breaking raise will allow the campaign to deliver a win in November, executing a strategic operation through volunteer coordination, advertising buys on TV and digital, mail, and, most importantly, a continued presence throughout this geographically large, gerrymandered district.

Hilary Barrett, Kopser’s Campaign Manager, released the following statement:

“None of this is by accident. The Kopser team has consistently built momentum toward the election over the last 18 months, bringing together a winning coalition of Independents, Democrats, Republicans, and first-time voters who are sick of the politics of division in Washington and TX-21. While we’re planning on leveraging the nationwide excitement about this election, our win will be delivered by Texans of every political stripe. They’re ready for the kind of crossover candidate whose story reflects their family’s, whose concerns echo their own, and who’s proven he can deliver a new kind of independent leadership.”

Kopser’s team will file a full release with updated numbers on October 15th.

Joseph Kopser is a 20-year Army veteran, technology entrepreneur, husband and father of three daughters, and Democratic nominee for Congress in TX-21. His candidacy is driven by concern for the future of our country and the path Washington leadership is taking. He is building a new coalition of voters who believe the values, priorities, and expectations of Texas’ 21st congressional district will serve as a model of service and representation for Texas and the United States.
