Final TX-21 Debate to Air on KLRN and KSAT

The League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area will host the final debate between Joseph Kopser and his opponents in TX-21

(San Antonio, TX) — Tonight, Joseph Kopser will meet his opponents onstage for the final scheduled debate in the TX-21 race. Kopser, an Army veteran, educator, businessman, and father of three daughters, has used the previous two debates to lay out his vision for a new generation of independent leadership.

By contrast, Kopser’s Republican opponent has attempted to prioritize fear over facts in both debates, reinforcing his gloom and doom narrative that disingenuously pits immigrants against the business community and misrepresents Kopser’s positions on border security. Ahead of tonight’s debate, Kopser released the following statement:

“Although I have asked my opponents to join me for substantive town halls on the issues in each of the ten counties of this district, I am grateful for the opportunity to debate them tonight. TX-21 deserves the chance to hear from their candidates and elected officials and get to know where they really stand on issues like jobs, education, health care, and immigration.

“I look forward to sharing my perspective on these issues, a perspective I developed as a Ronald Reagan Republican in my formative years, a fiercely Independent Army officer in my 20 years of service, and now as a businessman and  father of three daughters motivated by concern about the future we’re building for our our kids. My team which has outraised every opponent and identified more supporters than any other Democratic congressional campaign in Texas, will remain committed to actual facts and voter priorities –not the fear  and division my opponents are determined to sow.”

Hilary Barrett, Kopser’s Campaign Manager, added:

“In the past two debates, and in many of his communications with the voters of this district, Chip Roy has deliberately misled the public about who he really is. Tonight’s debate will give San Antonio voters, and every voter in this district, a chance to meet the real Joseph Kopser–and the real Chip Roy.

“Chip Roy and Lee Santos are fringe candidates, at best, and are far removed from the Texas values that Joseph has brought to this campaign for the last 20 months”

Although additional filming will not be permitted at tonight’s debate, press is welcome to attend. Please contact Madison at to learn more and KLRN to confirm attendance.

Joseph Kopser is a 20-year Army veteran, technology entrepreneur, husband and father of three daughters, and Democratic nominee for Congress in TX-21. His candidacy is driven by concern for the future of our country and the path Washington leadership is taking. He is building a new coalition of voters who believe the values, priorities, and expectations of Texas’ 21st congressional district will serve as a model of service and representation for Texas and the United States.
